Pidgin accepts submissions on a rolling basis. Reminders are sent out periodically to coincide with editorial cycle in the fall.
Pidgin seeks to combine a wide range of voices from practice and theory, from within the discipline and beyond. To engage the imperative currents and broad spectrum of architectural discourse, Pidgin is unthemed. We invite contributions that examine the contemporary moment in the field through essays, designs, conversations, images, or experiments. Past formats have included photo essays, screenplays, diagrams, etc. Select submissions may be paired with invited respondents to generate a catalyzing dialogue.
Written articles should be limited to 2500 words and formatted according to the current Chicago Manual of Style. While experimentation is encouraged, Pidgin prefers articles written in a direct and accessible style. For image or project-based submissions there is no limit to the number of images or drawings submitted, but we prefer full submission packages to be less than 25MB. Pidgin is printed in a 4.5” by 6.5” format. If selected for publication, authors must obtain the rights to all images they wish to include in the publication of their work as Pidgin operates under the terms and conditions of academic fair use.
While Pidgin does accept abstracts and proposals for work, selection for publication is based on completed work. All submissions will go through several rounds of editing with a member of the editorial board. Contributions by students, scholars, artists, writers, and practitioners are accepted. Submissions from outside of the Princeton School of Architecture community are welcomed and encouraged.
Please send your submission to contact@pidgin.press as a .pdf and .doc including additional image files (.jpg or .tif) where applicable, as well as any questions or comments.
